In Luke 12:13-40, Christ Jesus, triggered by an argument of two brothers over an inheritance, taught the people of Jerusalem that life consists of more than things. Our soul will be required of us, and we are fools to lay up treasure on earth and not toward God. Then to the disciples He elaborated more deeply on the subject reminding them there is more to this life than meat and raiment. The Son of man is coming soon at an hour we think not. Let's get ready for eternity and spend our lives preparing for Christ's return!
