Jesus is greater than everything
Who is Jesus? That is the most important question that every person must face. This question echoed through history from the church in Colossae to our lives today.
In this week’s sermon, Brent Russell unpacks Colossians 1:15–20, where Paul paints one of the most breathtaking pictures of Jesus ever written:
“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation... He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
Through the story of Epaphras and the birth of the Colossian church, Brent reminds us that the same question those early believers wrestled with — Who is this Jesus? — is still the most important question we’ll ever answer.
Is Jesus just a good teacher, a moral guide, or is He the Lord of all creation - God in human flesh, the One through whom and for whom all things were made?
This message challenges us to hold on to truth, live out right belief (orthodoxy), and put it into action (orthopraxy). It calls us to bow before Christ, not out of duty, but out of awe, recognising that all of creation, including us, exists for His glory and delight.
Join us as we reflect, worship, and respond to the One who holds all things together.
