All about gratitude
What does it mean to “always give thanks to God for everything” when life feels anything but easy?
In this week’s message, Brent Russell explores gratitude. Not as a superficial “look on the bright side,” but as a deep, faith-filled response to a sovereign God who works all things for our good and His glory.
Drawing from Ephesians 5:15–20, Paul’s words challenge us to see gratitude as a way of life. Much deeper than what the world teaches, but one shaped by trust, humility and perspective. Even when life breaks down, when things don’t work as they should, or when suffering enters the story, we can still give thanks because God is at work in every detail.
This sermon invites us to:
- take captive our thoughts and fix them on what is true and lovely,
- guard our words, because what we speak shapes our hearts,
- watch what we focus on, choosing light over comparison,
- and ultimately, to give thanks ALWAYS - not just in all things, but for all things, because nothing is beyond the reach of God’s redeeming love.
