THE LORD IS David starts Psalm 27 with the words, “The Lord IS my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord IS the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?” We know that God gives good gifts, but he is more than just a Father that provides for us and delivers us from difficulty. He IS. He IS all we need. Nazi concentration camp survivor Corrie ten Boom once said, “You may never know that JESUS is all you need until JESUS is all you have.” What does it mean to follow Jesus because all we need is Him and not just what He can give us?
