We all value authenticity - in people and things - we want the real deal. Jesus’ words answer the question of how we can discern authenticity in leaders and teachers in the family of God, and in our own hearts as disciples of Jesus. In this sermon, Grant shows that it is not a simple matter of looking for evidence of good works, but there are some key things that we need to look out for in order to discern whether the fruit of a leader’s life is truly good, and there are some things that we can do to ensure that we truly are authentic disciples/followers of Jesus. We believe that all of the Bible is inspired by God’s Spirit, but in this series we’ll be focusing particularly on the words that Jesus spoke - in some bibles His words are printed in red ink to help the reader more easily recognise when He is speaking among all the other voices in the narratives. What a wonderful treasure to have these words directly from the mouth of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.
