A Prayer for Boldness

The early church existed in a time when spreading the message of the Gospel was a very dangerous undertaking. Early Christians faced ridicule, persecution and even death just for speaking the name of Jesus. The fourth chapter of Acts teaches of the arrest of Peter and John who were seized and interrogated while preaching about Jesus Christ at the Portico of Solomon. After their release, they immediately gathered in prayer with a group of other believers and prayed for even more boldness and courage to face the immense obstacles they were up against. Very little has changed in 2,000+ years. Christians still face incredible challenges and relentless persecution from a world that by and large opposes the word of God. Our answer now-is the same as their answer then...united prayer for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
