Throughout history, certain moments and inventions have disrupted the world and changed the way we live. When Jesus came into the world, He was the greatest disruption of all. History was forever changed. The shepherds encountered the Savior, yet they returned to their everyday lives—still tending sheep, still living in the ordinary—but with hearts transformed by Christ. They waited for the day Jesus would publicly change the world, faithfully serving in the meantime with renewed hope and obedience. Many of us find ourselves living on this same side of Christmas—the ordinary, in-between moments. The question is how we will live there.
