Hosea was given a very unusual calling: to act out through a tumultuous and heart wrenching marriage marked by his wife's continual unfaithfulness, the relationship of God to his people. Adultery and idolatry are two sides of the one coin, and Hosea shows us that the healing of all our unfaithfulness lies in the faithfulness of God.
