A. Don’t Let Your Failures Define you.
Practice: Know how Christ Defines those who follow Him. Read and think about the following verses
You are forgiven (Col. 3:13)
You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)
You are a saint (Ephesians 3:17-18)
You are loved (John 3:16; 1 John 3:1)
You are forgiven (Col. 3:13)
You are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)
You are a saint (Ephesians 3:17-18)
You are loved by God (Ephesians 3:14-21)
You are a child of God (Eph. 2:19 and 1 John 3:1)
You are accepted in Christ, not condemned by God (Romans 8:1)
You are special to God (1 Peter 2:4-10)
B. Have compassion on those who despair.
Practice: Be alert for those who might be suicidal.
C. know the difference between regret and repentance.
Regret or remorse: sorrow over sin or action.
Real Repentance: sorrow over sin, changing your mind about what you had been doing, turning away from sin, and turning to God.
Practice: read about examples of repentance in Psalm 32 and psalm 51 and Luke 15:11-32.
