Genesis 17: After Genesis 16, where the lower plane of Abraham’s life shows itself, God appears to Abraham in Genesis 17 and calls him to the higher plane again – to the purposes of heaven, not that of earth. God provides new names that represent his design and he calls Abraham to live blamelessly, especially following the disaster of Genesis 16.
