In April, 1961, Martin Wayne Eich came to Charleston Baptist Temple from Cincinnati, Ohio, to serve as Minister of Music. He had gained experience in the Methodist churches in that area while finishing his degree work at the Cincinnati Conservatory. Wayne taught private lessons, he was also a teacher, a professor, a choir director, a church organist, a composer, he directed handbells, and was in many musical groups in Charleston.
