WHEN THE ADVOCATE COMES
Speaker: Dr. Jim Hewitt
Title: It’s Pentecost, that highlight in the church’s year when the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon the Jerusalem believers. Now God’s presence will be with us, speak to us, and reveal things to us through the Holy Spirit. Whenever we hear from the Lord, whenever we gain some new insight into the nature and work of God, it is a sure sign that the Spirit is busy teaching us about God, telling us truth that we could never tell ourselves. God is with us now in an even more intimate way than when he walked along the roads of Galilee.

Glory and Adoration Sweet, Sweet Spirit No. 291
There’s a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place,
and I know that it’s the Spirit of the Lord;
There are sweet expressions on each face,
and I know they feel the presence of the Lord.
Sweet Holy Spirit, sweet heavenly Dove,
stay right here with us, filling us with your love,
and for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise;
without a doubt we’ll know that we have been revived
when we shall leave this place.
