We Faint Not - 2020/08/30 (48)

• Aug 30, 2020
Dr. Steve Gregory (Rock of Ages Ministry) preaching Sunday morning Service. "We Faint Not" Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;...16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. Intro: In our text here, Paul talks about fainting. 3 things about "fainting": 1. To foul up, mistaken or behave badly; 2. fall prey to evil that comes out way; 3. failing in opportunities to share the Gospel. (1). 2 Corinthians 4:1 "...as we have received mercy..." - Mercy is applied by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. (A). Blood of Christ washes our sins. Revelation 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, (B). The Blood of Christ cleanses. (C). The Blood of Christ purchases us and gives life. Acts 20:28 - Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Our Blood is contaminated Romans 5:12. The Blood of Christ is not contaminated, its an eternal Blood that gives life. (2). 2 Corinthians 4:2 "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God." God says to denounce or say goodbye to sin and the lusts of the flesh and embrace the things of God. 1 Peter 4:1 "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you." 2 Cor 4:2, The word "Manifestation" - this word is a thought of an exhibit (ill: classic car), you and I are an exhibit (although no one is perfect) to others around us who witness our testimony. Do those around you know you are saved? (3). 2 Corinthians 4:3 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." We are not to hide, but witness to the lost. Are you doing this for those around you? Do those around you know you are Christian, do they know you are saved? 2 Corinthian 4:1 "...we have this ministry." Somebody needs you. There is a God in Heaven and it is our duty to do something about it. There will be somebody that will hear your message, someone that needs you to share your story and the Gospel message. There is something that everyone of us can do. Don't forget the burden. Don't forget the church. Faint not!
