Get Out of Your Comfort Zone (James 1:22) - 2020/06/14 (13)

• Jun 14, 2020
Brother Ofrecio preaches the Sunday morning service at Calvary Baptist Church. Text: James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 3 ways to get out of your comfort zone: 1. Stop - Evaluate the choices you make in your life. Too many times we make decisions without seeking God's will. Do you ask God to guide you in your decisions? Where are you right now in your Christian walk? Immerse yourself into His will. God has given you the opportunity to not only be a blessing to you, but use you to be a blessing to those around you. Do no get stuck in your comfort zone and lose sight of your responsibility to spread the gospel to others. Stop and evaluate your life and the decisions you are making. Are you doing the will of God for your life right now? We are all soldiers of Christ and warriors in this spiritual battle. Where are you right now in your Christian walk? 2. Yield - After stopping, you must yield. Yield and take small steps to push yourself to your limits to follow the will of God. (a). You must read your Bible. Immerse yourself into His Word. For every step you take in your life, you will find directions in the Word of God. (b). You must pray. Sometimes you won't see what God wants you to do, but this is an opportunity to pray to God seeking His wisdom. Stop trying and start following. Communicate with God, personal communication through prayer and reading the Word of God. Ask God for guidance and help, and for opportunities to open up so you can be used in His ministry. 3. Go - We must follow God's will in our lives to be a lighthouse to others in this world. To many lack a servants heart. Too many are dying not knowing the Gospel. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. We too often fail in doing what God wants us to do. But, we have the assurance of the free gift from God and the work done on the Cross. Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone and have a servants heart to follow God's will in your life?
