Renovate… Their names are Chip and Joanna and their HGTV show, Fixer Upper, has been astonishingly popular! They take houses in various states of disrepair and renovate them. Restore them. Sometimes all it takes is a massive cleaning and gallons of paint, other times the houses need major foundational restoration. It’s not unusual at this time of year to take a look at our lives and make some New Year’s Resolutions. Promises to ourselves of ways we need personal renovation. During the season of Advent, we have investigated the historical and theological truths of God “With Us”. This morning, let’s look at the practical ways the teachings of Jesus impact our lives.
