Apostles' Creed Pt. 1: I Believe In
Speaker: Mark Gasque
The Apostles’ Creed
I Believe In
The creed helps us develop better symmetry as Christians. It gives us a robust understanding of the God of the Bible.
The creed helps us with clarity. It makes it clear who God is.
The creed informs our community to whom we belong and whom we are with.
The creed informs our counsel, both to ourselves and to others.
This series is not about preaching the creed, but rather using the creed to preach the Bible.

is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Human beings are not primarily thinking creatures; human beings are primarily creatures driven by our loves.

4. The creed helps us with Counsel.
I believe in God the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended to hell. The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and sits on the right hand of the Father almighty, from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting, amen.
The creed reminds us that we don't believe the story our culture is telling us.
