"From that time on Jesus began to preach, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.'" (Matthew 4:17) Most Christians understand the part of the gospel that says that Jesus came to earth to die on the cross to save us from our sins, but if so, why did he live? Why did he preach? Why did he heal? Why did he have compassion? Why did he have a ministry? Jesus' mission while on earth was to reveal to us that the Kingdom of Heaven was closer than we imagined. It was near.
