Forgiveness restores the believer into intimacy with God. Unforgiveness is inherently contradictory to godliness. Paul's letter to Philemon reveals someone who is in need for forgiveness in Onesimus. We see someone who is needing to forgive in Philemon. And we see someone who is encouraging forgiveness in Paul.
