Waiting to Eat

Jesus told his disciples that he was "eagerly desiring" the Last Supper. He did so even knowing he would be betrayed and arrested because his mind was on the future. He was thinking about the Lord's Supper, which Christians celebrate every week, but also the "wedding supper of the lamb" that will happen after Christ returns. In the same way, the Lord's Supper is an act of anticipation.
