Debt Free

Speaker: Mike Miles

Lesson 7 in a series on Deuteronomy. What if we lived in a debt free society? What if all loans were written off the books? It's a radical idea now, but it was also a radical idea in the time of Moses. And yet, God commanded Israel to forgive each other's loans and debts every seven years. That seems like bad fiscal policy, but Moses said that it could happen because God was blessing them and because of that "there need be no poor among them." Today, God is continuing to use the Christian community to care for the poor, the needy, and the vulnerable. In doing so, God receives all the glory.
