Heart Burn

Jesus joins two disciples discussing what happened in Jerusalem. He interprets His death and resurrection through the OT before revealing Himself in the breaking of bread. “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us…” said the two disciples. God, who has given us the Scriptures to make us “wise for salvation” (2 Timothy 3:15), opens our eyes to believe Jesus. (edited from the Lutheran Study Bible, 2009)
