Thanksgiving - Three Ways to Respond to theGreatness of Our God
Speaker: Dr. Mike Frazier
• First of all, we are to seek Him.
• Notice that word “rejoice” in verse 10 because it reminds us that a life of pursuing God is a life of joy!
• Since God is the source of all joy, it makes sense that when we seek Him and find Him, it will bring us incredible joy.
Deuteronomy 4:29
"But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul."
• So many people today are looking for happiness in all the wrong places.
• They have no lasting joy, and they are never satisfied because joy is not found in the things of the world, but rather it’s found in God.
Psalm 16:11b
“...In thy presence is fullness of joy.”
• Secondly, we are to seek His strength.
• I am so thankful that when I am weak I can run to the Lord for strength.
• Some of you may look back over this past year and say, “Pastor Mike, it’s really been a tough year!”
• Maybe you lost a loved one or maybe you’ve been diagnosed with a terminal illness or maybe you’ve lost your job.
• Let me encourage you to seek God!
• He will give you supernatural strength to get through the difficult time that you’re facing.
• Thirdly, we should seek His face.
• The expression “his face” in verse 11 refers to His favor, His smile.
• In other words, we should be living for His smile or His approval upon our lives.
• Three times David says, “Seek, seek, seek the Lord.”
• The more we know about Him, the more we will seek to know Him more.
• Folks, we have a great and awesome God, and we ought to praise Him, proclaim Him, and pursue Him with every fiber of our being.
