• What makes the difference in a person’s life? • Well, to put it into one word – Jesus! • When a person comes to faith in Christ, and their heart is transformed by the power of God, a remarkable change takes place in their life. • Suddenly they begin to realize that they have been created by God, redeemed by God, called by God, and promised by God that one day they will stand before Him – and all of that motivates them to live a life for God and not for self. • They begin to live a God-centered life that please Him and brings glory and honor to His name. • Listen to me, because at your funeral they’re not going to spend 30 minutes talking about the day you were born – they’ll probably mention the date in your obit, but that’s it. • But what they will talk about is your life. • And if you’ve lived for God, then in a very real sense, the day of your death will be better than the day of your birth. • What’s the preacher going to say at your funeral? • If that preacher can’t say with confidence that you knew Jesus Christ as your personal Savior or if that preacher struggles to come up with anything good to say about your Christian life, then maybe the day of your death is not better than the day of your birth. • God help us to live in such a way that others look at our life and say, “They were saved by God’s grace, they were transformed by God’s grace, and by God’s grace they lived a Christian life that brought honor and glory to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
