Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? an in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." The Lord is warning of: 1) false path 2) false prophets 3)false professions 4) false philosophies First you see a lack of belief. They were counting on works to get them into heaven, but belief is essential. Paul speaks of importance of belief in Romans 10. Second, there was a lack of preparation in Matthew 25:1-13. Next, you see a lack of behavior in Matthew 25:41. If you are born again, you are a new creature. A saved person's life should show their fruits. By their fruit, you should know them. When we get saved, we live to please the Lord not to please others.
