1st Timothy 1 – The Apostolic Faith
Speaker: Ben Rochester
Paul prepared the church for its post-apostolic existence by entrusting the Gospel to faithful men, and charging them to order the household of God in the way that the Apostles patterned them. In this first chapter, Paul charged Timothy to keep to the Apostolic faith, meaning the doctrine of the Apostles. This was needed because false teachers had already crept in the church who needed correction. Their main mistake was the confusion of the Law and the Gospel. When the individual or the church departs from the Gospel, they depart from being Apostolic.
