Introduction 1 John 3:20 (ESV) - that verse is so freeing - because it means GOd’ love is not dependent on our flawless performance. The Meat Luke 10:38-42 (ESV) The Truth Point 1: The Pressure of Perfection When our service becomes a source of stress rather than an overflow of love, we’ve moved from relationship to performance. Application: Some of us are doing so much for God that we’ve stopped being with God. Point 2: The peace of His Presence Application: If you want peace, stop striving and start sitting. Point 3: The Prop of Comparison When you live in comparison, your joy drains out. When you live in HIs presence, your joy overflows. Application: Look at Jesus, not at your neighbor. Point 4: The Freedom of Choosing What Matters You can’t do everything. But you can choose the right thing. Perfection says, “Do it all.” Presence says, “Do what matters most.” Application: Choose time with God over the urge to get it all done. THat’s where freedom is.
