The reason we may not read, study or enjoy Old Testament Prophets is because we don’t have historical context. 

You open up to prophecy, it’s like reading a letter from a King to a group of people in the remote tribes of Africa concerning warring tribes, and what does this have to do with the price of rice in China? Yet, we are part of the spiritual nation that this prophet Micah is writing too. We’re spiritual descendants who need the Word of God as much as Samaria and Jerusalem did. We worship the very God who spoke into human history through Micah… and the more we love and learn about our King Jesus, our God, the more I want to be aware, filled up on, and familiar with every single thing He has spoken.
